What does it mean when someone says any means necessary or what do you think of when you hear this phrase? I immediately think of someone sacrificing all to get what they want or need. Many Hollywood moves have had main characters who would do anything and everything to get what they needed to accomplish a goal. I am certain viewers are both inspired and engaged with character as they move through the segments of the movie.
In our music career goals, more often than not, musicians seem to just take the slow and hobby method. This might be because they don’t trust the process of moving their experience from thought to action or realize that it can be very difficult to carve out a living in the industry. When I used to conduct in person workshops in classes, on this subject, I would always have a fun activity to push people to think about stepping outside of the comfort zone. Nothing that is designed to stretch you will allow you to continue doing the same ol things. If you treat your career like it is something that must happen, you will mentally drive every day towards getting that goal accomplished. Just like an eternal flame, you must never letter that fire go out. As long as you have the ability to push towards your goal and desire to accomplish it, you must eat, sleep and breathe that goal or plan. Never put it down and never give it up.
