Be Honest With Yourself

Spread the love

We as human beings lie to ourselves so often that we don’t know what is true center for our souls. I think that might be one of the reasons we don’t like to take constructive criticism, or that we are uncomfortable receiving a review about things we could approve upon. In the music industry, there is a thin line between what the maker thinks is art and what the listener or evaluation team feels is good enough. Musical people take it personally often, because of the pride felt behind the work. There is one reality that humans sometimes won’t accept… not one of us is perfect. Even the most professional basketball player will miss the shot at the final buzzer on occasion. It happens to all of us because we are not robots or machines. In addition, the best in any area has spent many years practicing and learning from others and although perfection is hard to obtain, you can get much better by learning from others and being open to suggestions and critique. Even if you are regularly releasing music and have a following of fans, you still can learn tips and tricks from others. The music industry has many layers and levels so stay open to change and evolution.

One of the best groups I ever joined was the Billboard 500 Club. Although you have to submit your music and get accepted, you will learn that you cannot find a fast-track to getting through the levels of information. If you are interested in giving the group a try, you can click the resources tab or use my link to see if you would be accepted. It is not free and it is a slow marathon but its worth it. If you would like advice as to how it works, want to take one of their online courses or just have questions, feel free to reach out to me via the contact form. I look forward to serving you in our goals.
